Faruk Fatih Ozer, the disgraced founder of collapsed Turkish crypto exchange Thodex, was discovered dead in his prison cell on November 1, 2025. Albanian authorities are investigating the incident as a probable suicide.

The 11,196-year sentence Ozer received in 2023 marked one of cryptocurrency's most spectacular falls from grace. His platform's 2021 collapse vaporized $2.6 billion in investor funds, triggering international manhunts and extradition battles.
